The Breakfast Club – Fuel for Learning
It was a very chilly out on the playground this morning and the students were well rugged up. Brrrrrr.
A huge thank you to Constance and Lynne for standing outside in the cold, filling up students tummies and warming them up with a hot drink. And after breakfast they were straight into making the school lunches onsite.
As always, the efforts of our Volunteers were truly appreciated by the students.
Barely a day goes by where we are offered items that we cannot accept due to the lack of suitable storage facilities. We also do not have the volunteer power or time to coordinate the messages, pick up, drop off’s and distribution as we are already pretty stretched.
We have now started a Facebook Group where people can list their items that they have available for FREE. eg. furniture, white goods, clothing etc. You can also post a Wanted Post if you are in need of a specific item or service.
This will allow items to be directly exchanged between those who want to give and those who are in need. If you have some items that you no longer need, and you think someone else might, please join the group and list them there.
Thank you and please remember that every little bit helps.
Oh my goodness, thank you, thank you, thank you ! We are so grateful to to everyone that has kindly donated jackets, coats and warm jumpers and an extra special thank you to the St Ives Shopping Village for organising and running the coat drive.
We just managed to squeeze them all into the van. So many wonderful and warm coats and jackets in every size imaginable.
Thank you once again to everyone!
